The American flag represents liberty and justice. The stars and bars represents oppression and treason.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the
United States of America, and to the
republic for which it stands; one Nation
indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
America has one flag and it is the stars and stripes.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Dr Bear, they need to be rounded up and put in a cage. Traitors are criminals of the worst kind,
DeleteGood evening Fat Bastardo!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a happy 4th of July holiday.
Oh! When the Pledge of Allegiance to The Flag was first written, originally, it did NOT have "under God" in it. Of course, you and I both know that, but a lot of people I have talked to, did not seem to know that, at all.
For more information, go to Wikipedia at . . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance
Here's part of the info from the website.
"The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an expression of allegiance to the Flag of the United States and the republic of the United States of America, originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942. The official name of The Pledge of Allegiance was adopted in 1945. The last change in language came on Flag Day 1954 when the words "under God" were added.
Incidentally, Francis Bellamy was a Socialist.
Anyway . . . . .
1892 (first version)
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
From 1924 up to 1954
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
But then . . . in 1954, the "under God" was added, and also, the "In God We Trust" was added to our paper currency. After that, America started getting all fucked up. They should have left well enough alone! But NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO! They had to get God involved in that! This of course, is in violation of the separation of church and state.
Oh! You remember the old Porky Pig cartoons from Merry Melodies and Warner Brothers.
Here is the original Porky Pig cartoon, in color from 1939, in which Porky Pig recites the Pledge of Allegiance, without the " under God" in it.
Porky's Pledge of Allegiance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33-5MbIE7eQ
Then . . . here's a modified version (still without the "under God" in it, by Porky Pig) but, with some pauses, and some text added which questions why the "under God" was put into The Pledge in 1954.
Porky Pig Pledge

And at the end, it has text that says that the "under God" should be removed, because it violates separation of church and state.
You might want to add these two YouTube videos in your next article.
Oh! By the way . . . Have your ever heard of Colonial Robert Green Ingersoll? He fought for the north during the Civil War.

Anyway . . . . .
He was fat and bald. If I were to take off my glasses, and my hat, I have been told by the librarians that I look exactly like him!!!
Yeah! When ever I'm down town, I have been stopping by my public library, and requesting that they get the Lectures of Robert Green Ingersoll, Volumes I & II, and I keep on bugging them every time I'm there. I have been lighting a fire under them, and making demands on them, that they get those two books.
Every time I'm there, I take off my hat and glasses, and I tell them to do a Google image search for Robert Green Ingersoll, and they freak out!!! That's because, without my hat and glasses, with my fat round face and bald head, I look exactly like him!!! Of course, I have more grey in my hair. So, I have bought some hair color to get rid of the grey and color my hair the way it was when I was in my 50s. As you know, I'm 63 now.
Yeah! I like showing off my own fat round bald-headed Robert Green Ingersoll type of face! I actually look like him without my hat and glasses! Well, I'm actually fatter than he was. But, I have the same plump round face and bald head! It's amazing!!!
Anyway . . . . .
He was a very advanced thinker way way way ahead of his times. He was an agnostic, against slavery, against the use of corporeal on children, he believed that a woman should have the right to vote, that a woman should have all the rights and privileges that a man has, plus one more, the right to be protected. When he first read Charles Darwin's "Origin of The Species" at first he was kind of skeptical, but the more he studied it, the more he came to rather like it! He even gave a public lecture titled SKULLS.
He did many public lectures. He was a lawyer after he was out of the army.

Anyway . . . . . R G Ingersoll said in his lectures, that the Bible is a terrible book, and he hates the doctrine of Hell, and that it should not be taught to children. He also believed that children should not be forced to go to bed when they're not sleepy yet, nor forced to get up too early when still feeling sleepy, and as I had said before, he was absolutely against the corporal punishment of children.
I guess you could say, that he was a 21st century man trapped in the 19th century.
Yeah! He was a beautiful bald-headed fat man! He was truly awesome!!!

Lectures of Col. R. G. Ingersoll
by Robert Green Ingersoll (1833-1899)
Colonel Robert Green Ingersoll (1833--1899) was a Civil War veteran, American political leader and orator during the Golden Age of Freethought, noted for his defense of atheism. This book is the first of two volumes collecting Ingersoll's speeches.
--------------------------------------------------
I hope that he adds more to this Playlist.
Anyway . . . . .
I'm also going to go to my local office of the Texas State Board of education, and suggest, NO DEMAND, that the public school history classes teach about Robert Green Ingersoll.
I had never heard of him when I was a kid going to school.
The first time I have ever learned about him was when I had check out a book from a Library in Truth or Consequence, New Mexico, back in 1980, when my mother and I spent the summer in Hillsboro.
I came across this old book with a 1900 copyright date on it by The Truth Seeker Company. The pages were yellow with age. It was titled" A Short History of The Inquisition" by Ingersoll.
Yeah! Short my fat ass!!! It had over 2,000 pages!!!
Anyway . . . . .
That was the first time I learned about Ingersoll, and I think our public schools should teach about him in their history class.
Of course, the Republicans will get their panties all in a bunch and start crapping in their diapers, because, Ingersoll was an agnostic.
But, I'm going to keep pushing for it, and before this year is out, I'm going to try to start a local chapter which I shall call, The Robert Green Ingersoll Society. Yeah! I'm going to start pushing for this real hard.
I'll probably end up modelling the lasted fashion in Tar & Feather-wear.
But, I feel a great need to do something with my life.

WOW Dr Bear thanks for all the valuable content.
DeleteI had a nice 4th. Instead of shooting off fireworks I want over to Proud's place and we got pretty drunk and we sat on the porch and shot off our mouths. I worked the grill and tapped the keg, We went for a swim in Proud's pool. Thinnette make a mean potato salad and the Chef could not attend but he did send over a cheese cake with blue berries and strawberries along with some sticky green.... for "medicinal purposes" only. Holidays can be so stressful.
