Trump boasts about vaccine rollout despite criticism as he blames Kushner for election loss

Donald Trump returned to Washington DC from his Mar-a-Lago resort hailing the arrival of a coronavirus vaccine, against widespread alarm over its slow rollout falling short of federal promises.

The president cut short his Christmas break, missing out on the annual New Year’s Eve party at his Florida residence despite charging attendees $1,000 per ticket.

A damning account in The New York Times of the president’s last several months, against a raging pandemic and looming election loss, reports his outage with Jared Kushner over Covid-19 testing and division among White House health officials over the role of Scott Atlas leading a dangerous response to the crisis.

White House officials also reportedly objected to Scott Atlas joining the West Wing, as the president’s favoured appointee on the coronavirus response told him “exactly what the president wanted to hear," according to The Times. while Dr Deborah Birx reportedly fumed over his dangerously false claims.

Mr Trump meanwhile has continued his protest against the certification of November’s election results in the Senate on 6 January, at which Republican senator Josh Hawley will voice his objections to Democrat Joe Biden’s win even though the Trump campaign has still failed to turn up any evidence of the mass voter fraud it alleges.

GOP Senator Ben Sasse has urged his Republican colleagues to reject the “dangerous ploy” to disenfranchise millions of Americans’ votes.

At least 140 House Republicans have joined the effort.

The US Secret Service is meanwhile reportedly making changes to its presidential detail tasked with protecting Mr Biden in order to root out alleged Trump loyalists from its ranks.

The president-elect has also announced plans to memorialise the victims of the Covid-19 crisis before his inauguration with a nationwide service to recognise the dead.

You very well may be arrested along with Kelly and Jeff. I would suggest that you go to the FBI and tell them you will wear a wire while discussing your predicament. If you can help them get Kelly, Jeff and Lin and try to get Kushner.

If you play it smart and you better have someone smarter that you around, you can legally trap them. This isn't a game and it's going to get ugly given the snakes in your orbit. Put your ego aside and take the money and run before this turns into a pissing contest that everybody loses.

When it comes to Republican scumbaggery Lin Wood is the poster pervert for Republican depravity. He got filthy rich by being a scumbag lawyer. He's also bat shit crazy and dangerous and like a lot of Republicans he's fascinated with pedophilia. After all, they don't call the GOP the party of pedophiles for nothing. Recently, and with no proof he accused Chief Justice Roberts of killing Justice Anton Scalia.

Lucian Lincoln "Lin" Wood Jr. (born October 19, 1952) is an American attorney, political commentator, and conspiracy theorist^[1] based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Following his graduation from law school in 1977, Wood worked for decades as a personal injury lawyer, focusing specifically on the then-burgeoning field of medical malpractice litigation. He later shifted his focus, becoming known as a "celebrity lawyer" with a specialization in defamation lawsuits. Wood first drew media attention in relation to his representation of Richard Jewell,^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] the security guard falsely accused in the Centennial Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta in 1996. Wood's representation of Jewell helped transform Wood from a personal injury lawyer to a nationally known defamation lawyer.

In recent years, Wood has frequently garnered attention through his promotion of conspiracy theories, both in his capacity as a lawyer and as a political commentator and social media personality. After Joe Biden won the 2020 United States presidential election, Wood promoted conspiracy theories on Trump's behalf, falsely claiming that Trump had won the election with 70% of the vote, and that a secret cabal of international Communists, Chinese intelligence, and Republican officials had contrived to steal the election from Trump. Wood litigated on Trump's behalf in various failed lawsuits, which sought to prevent the certification of legally cast ballots in the presidential election.^[6] Wood has also called for the imprisonment of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, based on the conspiracy theory that the two Republican officials worked with the Chinese to help rig the vote for Biden.^[7] Additionally, Wood is known for promoting the conspiracy theory that the COVID-19 crisis was manufactured by the Chinese government.

In July 2020, Wood was represented Dr. Simone Gold, founder of America's Frontline Doctors, who was fired for appearing in a video making false claims about COVID-19.

In December 2019 Wood lost a multi-million defamation case for Vernon Unsworth against Elon Musk who had branded him a "pedo guy". The case was lost because the jury felt that Musk's tweet did not properly identify Unsworth, as he was not mentioned by name

In August 2020, Wood volunteered to work on the defense team for Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old charged with homicide for shootings during the Kenosha unrest over the shooting of Jacob Blake.

In August 2020, Wood was sued by three of his former law firm colleagues, in a lawsuit which alleged that Wood had breached a contract regarding a settlement between them when the trio tried to leave his law firm. The lawsuit also alleged that Wood had fraudulently induced them with "abusive" communications, including that "God Almighty" was directing him. Wood responded that the lawsuit was a "shakedown" for money, claiming that the communications were "irrelevant" and from "a difficult time in my personal life arising primarily from my family’s reaction to my faith in Jesus Christ."

In November 2011, Wood was hired by then-presidential candidate Herman Cain, in his efforts to fight off sexual harassment accusations.

On November 13, 2020, a federal lawsuit with Wood as a plaintiff was brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; this lawsuit alleged that Georgia's procedures for handling absentee ballots had been unconstitutional since March 2020, hence Wood requested that Georgia not be allowed to certify its election results.^[20]^[21] At the time the lawsuit was filed, Joe Biden had a 14,000 vote lead over Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election in Georgia; news outlets on that same day projected Biden as the winner in Georgia.^[20]^[22] Wood later added to his lawsuit further rationale to delay certification; he took issue with Georgia's recounting of votes.^[23]

Wood's lawsuit failed after a Trump-appointed district court judge found "no basis in fact or in law" to stop Georgia's certification of its election results at such a late stage, as this would "breed confusion and potential disenfranchisement". The judge ruled that Wood had no legal standing to bring the lawsuit, and had brought the case too late. Wood failed to show that he had been harmed, while his proposal would "harm the public in countless ways".
