Ben Carson: Pyramids Used To Store Grain

Ancient or primitive granaries are most often made out of pottery. Granaries are often built above the ground to keep the stored food away from mice and other animals.

Dr. Ben Carson on Wednesday night confirmed his belief that the pyramids in Egypt were built for grain storage by Joseph, the Biblical figure who helped the Egyptians survive famine, even though archaeologists have concluded that the pyramids were built as tombs for the pharaohs. 

"My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain," Carson said in a 1998 speech surfaced by Buzzfeed News on Wednesday. "Now all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs’ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don’t think it’d just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain." 

In his 1998 speech, Carson also dismissed the theory that aliens helped construct the pyramids because "it doesn’t require an alien being when God is with you." 

When asked if he stands by his 1998 comments by CBS News on Wednesday night, Carson said, "It's still my belief, yes.".............

The pyramids were mostly solid rock. The ancient Egyptians stored their grain the same way that we store grain today - in granaries and silos!

Jesse Washington, a teenage African-American farmhand, was lynched in Waco, Texas, on May 15, 1916, in what became a well-known example of racially motivated lynching.

At around midnight on May 24, 1911, Laura Nelsonand her son L.D. were kidnapped from their county jail cell in Okemah, Oklahoma. The two were jailed after L.D. shot an officer trying to apprehend them for the investigation of a cow theft.

By some accounts Laura was raped in those wee hours in the jail cell by about 40 men as she tried to protect L.D. from the mob of attackers. Reports also indicate that she had a baby with her as all of this occurred.

Carson needs to be at the end of rope for many reason not of which are his skin color.

Crazy talk is nothing new for Republicans but usually a lot of the insanity that flows from the mouths of Republicans is generated by their sub par brains and overall ignorance. Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert and Sarah Palin and three prime examples of crazy and stupid. Just when you think that the crazy talk couldn't get any crazier, enter Ben Carson. Ben Carson brings new meaning to crazy.

3. “There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened.” - Carson comparing Democrats and those who voted for President Obama to Nazis.

4. “Because 9/11 is an isolated incident. Things that are isolated issues as opposed to things that fundamentally change the United Sates of America and shift power from the people to the government. That is a huge shift. You have to take a long-term look at something that fundamentally changes the power structure of America.” - Carson claiming that “Obamacare” is worse than 9/11

5. “A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay.” – CNN interview on March 4, 2015
