Traitorous Republican Governors Bitching About Biden's Stimulus Bill

WASHINGTON – Twenty-one depraved Republican governors and one Democrat are taking aim at a key component of President Joe Biden's COVID-19 relief bill, arguing that a proposed allocation of money "punishes" states that did not fully lock down businesses amid the pandemic.

The governors, led by South Carolina's sex pervert Henry McMaster, aka McMasturbate issued a statement over the weekend that criticized what they called a "biased" formula used to decide how much money in direct aid each states receives. One Democrat, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, also supported the statement.

Biden's bill, dubbed the American Rescue Plan, proposes $350 billion in direct aid to state and city governments to replenish tax revenue collections that declined during the pandemic. Most of the funding for each state would be based on its unemployment figures – not overall population. States where the most citizens were out of work last year would receive a greater share.

That arrangement "punishes states that took a measured approach to the pandemic and entered the crisis with healthy state budgets and strong economies," the governors said in the statement.

"A state’s ability to keep businesses open and people employed should not be a penalizing factor when distributing funds. If Congress is going to provide aid to states, it should be on an equitable population basis.”

Biden's COVID-19 relief bill passed the Democratic-controlled House early Saturday morning by a mostly party-line 219-212 vote. It now heads to the evenly divided Senate, where a vote is expected this week.

The White House declined to comment.

Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harris, responding to the governors' criticism, tweeted: "There is idiotic and then there is this! SC, wake up!" Harris, former state party chairman in South Carolina, touted how the bill would deliver $1,400 stimulus check as well as funding for vaccinations, schools and housing.

House Republicans have seized on the funding formula to allege that Biden's bill disproportionately helps "states run by the Democrat majority’s political allies."

Thirty-three states would receive less money than if the formula were based on population, according to an analysis from the office of Rep. Jason Smith of Missouri, top Republican on the House Budget Committee. Twenty-three of the states are led by Republican governors and 10 by Democratic governors.

The five states that would see their funding decrease the most are Georgia, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina and Alabama, according to the analysis. Only Virginia has a Democratic governor.

The five states that would get the biggest financial boost by using unemployment as a criteria are California, New York, New Jersey, Texas and Nevada. Only Texas has a Republican governor. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is not among the 22 governors who signed on to the statement.

Though few Republican governors have voiced support for Biden's COVID-19 relief bill, the legislation has garnered the public backing of 32 Republican mayors who say their cash-challenged cities need the assistance. West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has been perhaps the most outspoken Republican governor in support of the bill.

"There are many needs within states," Justice told USA TODAY last month.

More: Do states and cities 'need' Biden's $350 billion in direct COVID-19 relief? It depends where you're asking

Biden has touted the $350 billion in direct aid as a way for governments with budget shortfalls to pay police officers and firefighters, keep libraries and recreation centers open and provide other core services. It's in addition to $130 billion proposed to help reopen public schools.

Biden met with nine Republican senators virtually Monday to discuss the Senate's vote on the relief bill.

"The group had a good discussion and was united in the goal of quickly passing a significant package that reflects the scope of the challenges our country is facing," the White House said.

Other governors who supported the statement are Kay Ivey (R-Ala.), Mike Dunleavy (R-Alaska), Doug Ducey (R-Ariz.), Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), Brian Kemp (R-Ga.), Brad Little (R-Idaho), Eric Holcomb (R-Ind.), Kim Reynolds (R-Iowa), Tate Reeves (R-Miss.), Mike Parson (R-Mo.), Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.), Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.), Chris Sununu (R-N.H.), Doug Burgum (R-N.D.), Mike DeWine (R-Ohio), Kevin Stitt (R-Okla.), Kristi Noem (R-S.D.), Bill Lee (R-Tenn.), Spencer Cox (R-Utah) and Mark Gordon (R-Wyo.).

Op Ed: Biden is correct! If I were him the I'd give the treasonous parasitic Trump states the middle finger and if they bitched I'd give them a year or more of operation William Tecumseh Sherman

Good behavior should be rewarded and bad behavior should be punished. While I understand that the majority of South Carolinians are traitorous depraved MAGAts and because of them, good people will suffer, it would be wrong to reward the pro Trump anti masker mob who helped to cause the deaths of more that 500,000 Americans and crashed the economy. Infact if I were Biden I would see that the trash who voted for Trump and #Leningrad Lindsey not get the vaccines since they believe the virus is a "Democrat hoax".  Since 60% of Republican were OK with the siege on the US Capitol and the execution of the Speaker Pelosi and VP Mike Pence I'd like to see them injected with bleach as Trump once recommended.

At this point Henry, you should be kissing Biden's feet for any crumbs he gives the confederacy. The good news for the union is that the wages of sin lead to death so I would encourage the Dixie to continue all the vice that has shortened the lifespans. The savage parasitic South leads the US in gluttony/diabetes, cancer, divorce, teen pregnancy, drug abuse, smoking, low IQ, violent crime and porn. The depravity of the native White Southerner is why there are so few moral  Republicans with normal intelligence.

Maybe you are not the piece of shit I assume you to be and maybe you are merely jerking off the trashy inhabitants of South Carolina, I don't care. I'm sick of the trash that it the GOP from the bottom to the top of the stinking heap.

Your state has the South African variant, the UK variant, the Brazilian variant and soon it will have the LA variant. Keep the GOP base heading toward early graves. That will increase the moral quotient of the US as well as the IQ. If you had any morals at all you would personally take a sledge hammer to every confederate monument in your depraved state. You will denounce Trump, Cruz, Lindsey, and all the other trash who went to CPAC and who supported the attack on the US Capitol and you would do it daily if you were an American. You would piss on the confederate battle flag publicly if you were a real American. You would call out the moral depravity of the trash in your state and your party if you were a real American.

Consider this. Anthony Weiner did some sick shit and the Democrats kicked him out of the party and the Democrats are holding Cuomo's feet to the fire. Republicans defend sexual predators such as Roy Moore, Alan Dershowitz, Trump, Giuliani, Vitter, Hastert, Clarence Thomas, Kavanaugh etc... How foul and depraved your GOP gang is! Shame on you! You have no shame.

Tell your anti-mask Trump worshiping cousin marrying gluttonous fat bodied fake Christian gunfederates this verse from the very Bible that they are too lazy and too illiterate to read.

"They shall reap," not merely as "they have sown," but with an awful increase. They sowed folly and vanity, and shall reap, not merely emptiness and disappointment, but sudden, irresistible destruction.

Perhaps when they are on ventilators taking their last gasp they will know what awaits them.

Science has prove that we have souls and our souls are dimensional and quantum entities that hold our consiousness. Unless you behave in a moral manner and make attonement you will end up in hell for all eternity. You are earning it with your dishonesty.

Democrats: Tax The Filthy Rich!

Democratic lawmakers put forth Senator

Warren's tax on the ultra rich

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is teaming up with some Democrats as well as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to put forth the wealth tax she campaigned on as a Democratic presidential candidate to fight the rising inequalities exacerbated by the pandemic.

"We have watched the wealth of the billionaire class in America increase by more than a trillion dollars over the last year," Warren said at a press conference on Monday. "A two-cent wealth tax, or just help level the playing field a little bit, and create the kind of revenue that would let us build back better as Joe Biden says."

The legislation was introduced on Monday by Warren and Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Brendan Boyle (D-PA). If implemented, Warren's Ultra-Millionaire Tax (UMT) would impose a 2% annual tax on net worth of households and trusts between $50 million and $1 billion. For those making above $1 billion, the annual tax rate would be 3%.

The legislation is expected to generate $3 trillion in tax revenue over 10 years by raising taxes on only 100,000 American families, according to an analysis by the University of California-Berkley.

"Wealth at the top has boomed during the COVID crisis. Billionaires' wealth has literally exploded while many Americans struggle with job and income loss," Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman, authors of the report, said in a statement on Monday. "The ultra-millionaire wealth tax is the most direct and powerful tool to curb growing wealth concentration in the U.S. and make sure the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share in taxes."

Under Warren's proposal, America's billionaires would owe $114 billion in wealth tax for 2020, according to estimates by the Americans for Tax Fairness (ATF) and the Institute for Policy Studies Project on Inequality (IPS).

For instance, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos would pay $5.7 billion in wealth taxes for 2020 under the proposal, lowering his net worth from $191.2 billion to $185.5 billion, while Tesla's Elon Musk would pay $4.6 billion in 2020 wealth, reducing his net worth to $148.9 billion from $153.5 billion, the analysis found.

'It would probably raise much less revenue'

While wealth taxes reached their peak in OECD countries in the 1990s, the number of OECD countries that currently have a wealth tax dropped to five from 12 by 2019 because of the challenges those taxes create, according to the Tax Foundation.

Critics say that Warren's proposed tax may be difficult to calculate and be enforced. The revenue generated might not be as much as expected, while the costs of administering the tax could be higher than calculated.

"There's also a lot of uncertainty over how much revenue a wealth tax could actually generate," Erica York, an economist with the Tax Foundation, told Yahoo Money. "It would probably raise much less revenue than what Senator Warren estimates."

The tax would cover the individual's net worth — including bonds, stocks, real estate as well as art collections and private business assets minus any debts. Some of those assets, like art collections, may be harder to value, requiring more resources at the Internal Revenue Service to support those operations.

Warren's proposal included $100 billion of funding to the IRS to "hire and train additional personnel, modernize IT systems, and implement the new asset valuation, reporting, and enforcement requirements" but it is unclear whether those resources would be enough.

Tax evasion and avoidance could be other reasons that the wealth tax may not generate as much revenue as initially estimated, according to York.

"While I think Senator Warren and her proposal would try to beef up the IRS, you would still have the incentive for wealthy households to try to reduce their liability," York said."The problem exists today with the estate tax and I don't think you could just make it disappear when you implement a far more broad-reaching tax like the wealth tax."

  • Sexual Predator Madison Cawthorn Lied About Crash That Partially Paralyzed Him, Pal Says

     Mary Papenfuss

    ·Trends Reporter, HuffPost

A former close friend of sexual predator right-wing Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) told The Washington Post the lawmaker lied about a car wreck that partially paralyzed him.

Cawthorn’s account of the 2014 wreck — which he presented publicly in the chapel of his Christian college in Virginia three years later — was that a close friend had crashed the car in which he was a passenger, leaving him to die “in a fiery tomb,” the Post reported over the weekend.

But the friend, Bradley Ledford, told the newspaper in his first public comments about the crash that he pulled Cawthorn from the wreckage.

“It hurt very badly that he would say something as false as that,” Ledford told the paper. “That is not at all what happened. I pulled him out of the car the second that I was able to get out of the car.”

That was just one element of a story rich with lies, the Post reported. Cawthorn claimed he was “declared dead” after the wreck. He wasn’t. The police report noted he was “incapacitated.” Cawthorn said he was preparing before the crash to start studies at the U.S. Naval Academy ― a boast that he eventually turned into a campaign ad. But the news outlet AVL Watchdog reported in August that Cawthorn had been rejected by the Naval Academy before the crash.

Cawthorn, now 25, exploited his tale of his crash at age 18 for his successful 2020 House campaign. He’s now the youngest House representative.

He has become one of the most vocal peddlers of the claim that the presidential election was fraudulently stolen from Donald Trump, another lie. Yet in a stunning confession last month, he admitted he has no evidence of election fraud. “I think I would say the election was not fraudulent,” Cawthorn said on CNN.

As for Cawthorn’s version of the car crash, “that statement he made was false,” Ledford told the Post.

Cawthorn has used a wheelchair since the crash. He drives a specially equipped car that has been linked to sexual misconduct accusations. More than 150 former students at his college signed a letter late last year accusing him of “sexually predatory behavior,” which Cawthorn has denied.

BuzzFeed News talked with more than three dozen people who described allegations of sexual misconduct while Cawthorn was at Patrick Henry College. Four women told BuzzFeed that Cawthorn was aggressive, misogynistic or predatory toward them. Cawthorn called them derogatory names in public, asked inappropriate questions about their sex lives, kissed and touched them without their consent, they told reporters. Many of the aggressive encounters occurred during what Cawthorn liked to call “fun drives” in his car, according to BuzzFeed.

Cawthorn did not immediately respond to a request for comment from HuffPost. Neither he nor his spokesperson responded to The Washington Post.

Cawthorn’s communications director, Micah Bock, referred BuzzFeed News to remarks he made at a campaign debate in which Cawthorn said: “I have never done anything sexually inappropriate in my life.”

    CPAC Honors Nazism

    • Twitter users noted the design of a stage at CPAC closely resembles a symbol used on Nazi uniforms.

    • CPAC organizer Matt Schlapp denied the resemblance was intentional, calling the idea "outrageous and slanderous."

    • The "Odal rune" has also been used by white supremacists in Europe and North America.

    • Visit the Business section of Insider for more stories.

A stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference drew attention over the weekend for its resemblance to a Nordic rune that appeared on Nazi uniforms.

After people on Twitter noticed the similarity, the organizer of the conservative conference strongly denied it was intentional, saying the "stage design conspiracies are outrageous and slanderous."

"We have a long-standing commitment to the Jewish community," Matt Schlapp, the head of the American Conservative Union, said in a tweet. "CPAC proudly stands with our Jewish allies, including those speaking from this stage."

The design of the stage is in the shape of an "Odal rune," which was used on Nazi uniforms in some divisions of the SS and has also been used by white supremacists in Europe and North America in the years following World War II.

However, because the symbol is part of the runic alphabet, it's used in non-extremist contexts as well, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Insider identified a version of the symbol in a photo taken in Germany in 2008 at a neo-Nazi summer camp that was broken up by police.

Runic alphabets predate the modern Roman alphabet and were used widely across Europe. They were appropriated by white supremacists due to the use of runes by Nazi Germany.

Nazis have coopted numerous symbols from other cultures. The swastika was used for millennia as a symbol of good fortune by Buddhists, Hindus, and Jains before being appropriated by Nazis.
