Johnson and Johnson Killing Children Worldwide

If only they were killing puppies people would give a shit and the lame stream media would report it. Lucky for canines J&J does not make animal product but they do make many medical products for kids.

This past April, a Johnson & Johnson recall of more than 40 brands and 130 million bottles of children's over-the-counter medications left worried parents here in Colorado and across the country scrambling to empty their medicine cabinets of the potentially harmful products. In this downward trend in patient safety, last year saw more than 1,700 drug recalls - four times more than in 2008 - that were mostly tied to manufacturing quality.

Why are Americans more at risk now?

A Pew Prescription Project poll released Aug. 3, 2010, shows that most Americans are concerned about drug safety, particularly the safety of drugs manufactured overseas, and support increased regulation. Seventy percent of respondents have little or no confidence that drugs manufactured in China are free from contamination and safe for Americans; 54 percent of respondents expressed the same concern about drugs manufactured in India. Ninety-four percent of Americans favor giving the FDA recall authority for drugs, which it currently lacks. Currently, almost all drug recalls are voluntary."

When to Fire Your Doctor

It goes without saying, American doctors are the worst in the industrialized world. Despite the fact that the highest paid doctors in the world are Americans, American doctors are the 3rd leading cause of preventable death. These arrogant and overpaid crybabies don't have to be polite of competent because there is a doctor shortage in the US. The following US News and World Report article discusses what to do about these bums.

Getting Rid of Your Stumble Bum Doctor

Staying with a doctor you're not happy with is as harmful as staying in a relationship you know is bad because it's easier than making a change. But parting ways may be the healthiest move. Here are 9 signs that it's time to fire your doctor. (For simplicity, the references below are to male doctors, but men don't have a monopoly on unacceptable behavior.)

1. You don't mesh. You and your doctor don't need to see eye to eye on everything, but it's helpful if you work well together. If you want a partnership, for example, a doctor who spouts commands is not the best fit. If you value warmth, you may not be able to build an effective relationship with a physician who seems formal or distant. "Some patients like doctors who are very direct and blunt," says Washington, D.C.-based family physician Kenny Lin, who blogs for U.S. News. "And some patients can't stand that type of doctor because they think he or she isn't empathetic enough or doesn't provide enough options." When there's a mismatch, neither person is at fault—but it could be grounds for termination.
[Find a Top Doctor near you.]

2. He doesn't respect your time. Do you routinely wait an hour to see your physician only to feel like he's speed-doctoring through the visit? You should never feel like you're being rushed. If your doctor doesn't take the time to answer your questions or address your concerns, there's a problem. The medical community is becoming increasingly sensitive to patients' precious time. When they're late for an appointment, some habitually tardy doctors have even begun compensating patients with money or gifts. If your doctor's chronic lateness makes you grind your teeth, why stay with him? Hint: If you're evaluating a prospective physician, investigate his timeliness beforehand. This map showcases doctors who are conscious of the clock and live up to the standards of the Ideal Medical Practices Organization, a nonprofit that encourages doctors to be on time.

3. He keeps you in the dark. A doctor should be open and thorough about why he recommends a certain treatment or orders a specific test, and he should share all results with you. "If a doctor doesn't explain himself, or at least not to your satisfaction, at that point a doctor is bad," Lin says. "I know doctors who have drawn blood or run a bunch of tests without telling patients why they're doing them and what they mean." It's also important that a doctor uses terms you understand, rather than complicated medical jargon; otherwise, explanations are meaningless. Your health is too important to feel confused or uninformed.
[Decoding Doctor-Speak: Translations of Common Medical Terms]

4. He doesn't listen. Does your doctor hear you out without interrupting? "It all comes down to communication and whether you feel like you're asking questions and they're not being answered," says Carolyn Clancy, director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. She recalls visiting a doctor for a second opinion on whether she should go through with a procedure recommended by her dentist. "He made a big leap—that I didn't want to have it done because I was afraid of the pain—and kept reassuring me that it was virtually pain-free. That's not what I was asking. After three rounds, I concluded that we weren't going to get to a productive place, and I didn't go back."
[3 Ways to Get Your Doctor to Take Your Pain Seriously]

5. The office staff is unprofessional. The receptionists are the link between you and the doctor. If they blow you off—or neglect to give your message to the physician, say about side effects of a new medication—your health could be at risk. Even if you like your doctor, a bad office staff could signal it's time to look elsewhere.

6. You don't feel comfortable with him, or wonder about his competence. Doctors need to know intimate details you may not even share with friends or family members. If you're unable to disclose such facts, you and your doctor may not be the right match. A sense of unease about his decisions and recommendations, even if you can't say exactly why, is also a perfectly legitimate reason for cutting the cord, says Don Powell, president of the American Institute for Preventive Medicine, a nonprofit that promotes healthy behavior through wellness programs and publications. Beware of sloppy medical mistakes, too: If your doctor prescribes a medication to which you're allergic, and you know that information is in your history, a separation may be in order.

7. He doesn't coordinate with other doctors. Your primary care physician should be the quarterback of your healthcare team, managing each step of the medical process. That means keeping track of specialists' reports and instructions and talking with you about their recommendations. If he's slacking, an important piece of your care could slip through the cracks.
[Your Primary Care Team Will See You Now]

8. He's unreachable. A good doctor is available for follow-up questions and concerns. Patient advocate Trisha Torrey, author of You Bet Your Life! The 10 Mistakes Every Patient Makes, recalls the time her husband developed severe tooth pain on a weekend. His dentist's voicemail included a cell phone number and a promise of a quick response, but he never heard back. An emergency clinic visit and root canal later, he told his dentist she was fired. A growing number of doctors are making themselves available to patients via E-mail, text message, and Skype, and at the very least, you need to know that in an emergency, you won't be left hanging.
[Doctor-Patient E-Mails Are a Healthy Addition, Research Shows]

9. He's rude or condescending. Time to part ways. Same goes if he trivializes your concerns as though they're not valid. One of the clearest signs you should move on is if he walks out of the room while you're still talking, says Clancy. That's what happened when her sister met with a surgeon to determine if her daughter should go through with a procedure. "When my sister finished asking her question, the doctor was gone," Clancy recalls. "She called me afterward and I told her, 'You have to find someone else. You'll regret it if you don't.' "

A Fool Proof Diet

Sorry for the poor quality
A few nites ago I Fat Bastardo lost a bet with CG Brady. The bet was that I Fat Bastardo could not drink a gallon of milk faster than CG could drink 2 gallons of water. I took the bet. It sounded like a sure win. We watched each other on a web cams. In less than 2 minutes CG had chugged the first gallon of water. As I began to guzzle the milk after about a 1/2 a gallon I puked it all up and almost fucked up my computer. I was humiliated. As my part of the bet I have allow CG to post a diet article.

A Diet Plan That Works by CG Brady

75% of Americans are overweight or obese and in spite of all the diet book and diet aids available that number has not gone down. Clearly the medical and diet industry have dropped the ball when it comes to solving the riddle of the obesity epidemic. Is it in the best financial interest of the medical industry to reduce obesity among Americans? Of course not. It is in the medical industry's best financial interest to actually make and keep people fat because with obesity comes hundreds of dollars in revenue from the many obesity related maladies.

Here's how to lose weight and keep it off.

If you go to your doctor he may give you Medifast or send your for weight loss surgery. Both of these are bad options. Medifast is diet plan with crappy pre packaged food and shakes that total between 800 -1200 calories per day. A really obese person will lose weight rapidly on this sort starvation diet. During the starvation they burn all the glycogen (the storage form of glucose) in their liver and soon most of their life sustaining calories come from ketones in stored body fat. Body cells with  function best on glucose but can survive on ketones. Brain and nerve cells require glucose. Ketogenic diets like Atkins and South Beach don't work and they are dangerous. Robert Atkins MD died obese of a heart attack and Arthur Agatston MD admits to taking statin drugs and he's also over weight. Why am I telling you this? I am telling you this to let you know that most MD are clueless when it come to weight loss so don't listen to them.

The best way to lose weight is to keep your caloric intake at your basal metabolic rate. To find your approximate BMR multiply your weight X 10. That will get you in the ballpark.

The safe way to lose weight and not damage your body and brain is to lose no more than 1 pound per 100 pounds of body weight per week. For example; If you weigh 300 pounds lose no more than 3 pounds per week.

A farmer would not feed his livestock the slop most American eat because it is just so unhealthy.

The 15% of people who lose weight and keep in off do it for altruistic reasons. People are more motivated when the do it for a loved one.

The more often you eat the less likely you will feel hungry.

Create 6 meals per day that total your BMR. You will be eating ever couple of hours so you won't have time to feel hungry. If you do feel some hunger pangs drink water or suck it.

These meals have to be healthy and wholesome. They need to include .5 grams of protein per pound of your body weight. Protein is the only safe appetite suppressant. 65% of the calories need to come from plant based carbohydrates and the remaining can from healthy fats; learn what they are.

You probably don't know that Protein has 4 calories per gram. Carbs have 4 calories per gram, Alcohol has 6 calories per gram. Fat has 9 calories per gram.  If you didn't know this perhaps you are not serious enough about your health and your personal and social responsibilities???? Your doctor never took the time to tell you this because he doesn't know nor does he care to know and keeping you fat means more money for him. I know that sounds harsh but its most often the case.

Sir Isaac Newton
As you body weight decreased so will your BMR. That's normal and desirable. The diet industry hype about boosting hype about "boosting" your metabolism is mostly BS.  Exercise will raise you metabolic rate but there really is no pill that will safely or significantly raise your BMR. The truth is the metabolic rates of individuals of the same age, weight and gender vary by 35 calories a day. If you argue with Sir Issac Newton you lose.

Think of all the reasons for why you can't eat healthy meals everyday that total your BMR. The truth is the are no reasons at least not any valid ones. Knowing now that there is no reason for why you can't do this, if you don't do this it is because you won't.

Republican Prosecutors Dismiss Child Rape Charges

I received the following email to post here on Bigger Fatter Politics. Most of you all know that 99% of pedophiles are Republicans so it comes as no surprise that Republican prosecutors would be very lenient when prosecuting baby rape. If you wish to express your outrage contact that Missoula County DA's office. Tell Fred Van Valkenburg what a fucking asshole you think he is.

From Mother Jones. Read what others are saying about this Republican Pedophile Enabler

Dear Fat Bastardo,

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, sexism and misogyny in the Missoula county attorney's office led to prosecutors humiliating victims and dropping rape cases.

At one point, for example, when one distraught mother asked why her 5-year-old daughter's rapist had only been given two years of community service, a county attorney told her "boys will be boys." Another read religious passages aloud to a rape survivor.

Furthermore, the investigators said, prosecutors had failed to pursue the vast majority of cases where mentally or physically disabled women claimed they'd been assaulted, "even in cases where there was evidence such as a confession or incriminating statements by the perpetrator."

This sickening failure of the justice system is a disgusting abuse of power. These victims had nowhere else to turn, and the people they trusted to pursue justice on their behalf let them down.

Demand a stop to the trivialization of rape cases in Missoula immediately.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sister Megan Rice, 84, was found guilty of damaging and destroying government property
  • She and two other peace activists were arrested in 2012 for breaking into nuclear facility
  • The uranium processing and storage complex was supposed to have been tightly secured
(CNN) -- An 84-year-old nun was sentenced to 35 months in prison Tuesday for breaking into a nuclear facility, her lawyer said.

In May, a federal jury in Knoxville, Tennessee, found Sister Megan Rice; Greg Boertje-Obed, 57; and Michael Walli, 63, guilty of destroying U.S. government property and causing more than $1,000 in damage to federal property.

It was not immediately clear what the sentences were for the two other peace activists.
The incident began before dawn on July 28, 2012, when the three cut through a chain-link fence surrounding the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

They then walked nearly a mile, cutting through three more fences and breaching what was supposed to be the most tightly secured uranium processing and storage facility in the country.

It was not until hours later that a guard finally confronted the activists who, by then, had hoisted banners, spray-painted messages and splattered human blood on a building that houses highly enriched uranium.

"They're at peace about this. They're peacemakers, and they knew that they risked this," Joe Quigley, attorney for Walli, told CNN affiliate WATE in May after their trial. "Nobody is happy to go jail, but they understand."

In response to the incident, Congress has held a series of hearings and issued security recommendations to the Department of Energy and its National Nuclear Security Administration, which runs Y-12 and seven other nuclear weapons sites.

In March, Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee that the Department of Energy had taken "several major actions ... to improve security" since the breach, including management changes and independent security reviews.

Fat Bastardo
FAT BASTARDO's OP ED:

A couple things come to mind. First off how did these rank amateurs breach such a sensitive facility so easily? With that questions asked, Is it possible that that the Federal Gestapo wants terrorists to easily be able to get their hands on nuclear material so that they can kill Americans to justify more killing and conquest in the Middle East? Do they know that the terrorist threat is really a bunch of bullshit and that is why there was no security there in the first place?

This Nun, Sister Megan Rice should be getting the Congressional Medal of Honor for exposing the bullshit fucking security and after that she should get the Noble peace prize and the federal judge you sentenced her to 35 months in prison which may be a life sentence needs to get rectal cancer before he spends eternity in hell.

How to Debate Right Wing Christians

I goes without saying that righties are blantant liars but the are also ignorant and intellectually lazy as well as being quite delusional. The to trap a liar is with that liar's own words or with the words he repeats from another liar and this case that liar is the Bible or God.

The Bible is collection of 66 books that span about 1600 years or more. Turns out God is very slow writer along with being an asshole. The Bible is 99% warped family values,   absurdity, cruelty, intolerance, injustice, contradictions, gay bashing  and misogyny which is everything the Republicans are. Use their own words and fact free statements against them. Show them how purely evil their ego maniacal God truly is. Lean their play book and destroy them with it.

Mormon Church Harbouring Aiding and Abetting Another Corporate Criminal

First off, Mormons are not even false Christians because they are are NOT Christians false of otherwise. It turns out after Gary Newsome CEO of HMA got caught committing massive medical fraud the Mormon Church gave him a job in Uruguay as president of a mission.

Unless and until this God forsaken country has the morality to stop monetizing disease this sort of evil and criminal activity will continue.

Health Management Associates, including one contending former CEO Gary Newsome pushed unnecessary admissions for false billings.

Newsome, who resigned as chief executive officer July 31, directed “HMA’s corporate practice of pressuring emergency department physicians and hospital administrators to raise inpatient admissions rates, regardless of medical necessity,” the federal agency said in a statement.

The lawsuit naming Newsome said he exerted significant pressure on doctors in emergency rooms to admit patients who instead could have been put under observation, treated as outpatients or discharged. They were admitted to obtain inflated or false medical claims paid by the federal government, the agency said.

Besides setting targeted admission rates in emergency rooms at all HMA hospitals, directors of emergency rooms and physicians found their employment contingent on increasing admissions, Justice Department officials said.

Hospital executives were threatened with firing if they didn’t coerce physicians to admit more patients, according to one of the lawsuits. Another suit says patients were improperly admitted for scheduled surgical procedures when they should have been treated as outpatients, the agency said.

HMA owns 71 hospitals in 15 states, including two Physicians Regional Healthcare System campuses in Collier County.

The whistle-blower complaints contend HMA paid kickbacks to other physician groups to induce referrals, which included improper direct payments and free office space to Primary Care Associates, a practice in Port Charlotte, the agency said.

“This intervention decision marks the culmination of a lengthy and comprehensive investigation into a variety of serious fraud allegations against one of our district’s largest health-care providers,” A. Lee Bentley III, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, said Monday in a statement.

Newsome’s resignation came while the Justice Department and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission were conducting probes of HMA’s billing practices for at least two years.

Newsome became CEO in 2008. He resigning after he said he was tapped by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to serve as president of its Uruguay-Montevideo Mission in South America.

In a May 28 interview with the Naples Daily News, Newsome said he was proud of his accomplishments with HMA and had transformed the company “into a vibrant, innovative company that is well-positioned and on a clear path to great success.”

When asked Monday about the allegations against Newsome, HMA spokeswoman MaryAnn Hodge said in a statement: “While our legal team addresses these matters and continues to cooperate with the Department of Justice’s ongoing investigation, HMA associates and physicians who practice at our facilities are focused on providing the highest quality patient care in all our hospitals.”

HMA is to be acquired by Tennessee-based Community Health Systems Inc. after 98 percent of votes cast by shareholders last week approved the $7.6 billion sale. That includes Community Health assuming $3.7 billion of HMA’s debt.

The Federal Trade Commission still has to approve the acquisition, which would make Community Health the largest hospital system in the U.S. based on the number of hospitals. Community Health would operate 206 hospitals with 31,000-plus beds.

Health-care analyst Sheryl Skolnick, with CRT Capital Group LLC, said the last four suits unsealed Monday were the most incriminating.

Whistle-blower suits like these are sealed procedurally until the government investigates the allegations, then unsealed.

“They kept the best for last,” she said. “This is a unique case because it does name Gary Newsome as an individual. In order for the DOJ to intervene, obviously they have to feel there is enough ‘there’ to substantiate their taking on Gary as a defendant.”

Though the last four suits are different from the first four, together they paint the same story of wrongdoing, Skolnick said.

Until now, the suits might have suggested a bad apple here or there at HMA’s hospitals, she said.

“It’s the same thing all over the place,” Skolnick said.

After Newsome joined HMA at the end of 2008, the struggling company turned around quickly, growing admissions, which concerned Skolnick, a vocal HMA critic.

“The record will show patient volumes changed very quickly,” she said.

HMA — or its new owners — might be forced to buy back the interest in its hospitals that were sold to physicians, as it was in the case of HealthSouth Corp. and its accounting scandal years ago, Skolnick said.

“So the doctors would have to get money back, not their money back, but money back,” she said. “And it’s not clear how much.”

It’s not a complicated case, so it shouldn’t be difficult to explain to a jury, she said.

“It’s a simple story,” Skolnick said. “This is not some kind of arcane financial statement fraud.”
