Beyond Reform: Is America's Corrupt Criminal Justice System Too Corrupt To Be Fixed?

Many people believe that America has become a police state. They point to the fact that the US incarcerates more of its citizens subjects than another country on earth.

They point to the epidemic of no knock raids based on bogus search warrants.

They point to all the dangerous cops, unscrupulous prosecutors, crooked judges and kangaroo courts.

They point to numerous 4th amendment violations such as stop and frisk and threats of arrest if suspects don't comply with request to search the suspect's person and property.

They point to the huge jump in police brutality.

They point to police piracy known as civil forfeiture where cops take your money and property on the bogus suspicion that you might be a drug dealer

They point to police retaliation in the form of the arrest of innocent people,

They point to the blue wall of silence.

They point out that bad cops are rewarded.

They point to the trend known as policing for profit.

They point out that administrative leave for police misconduct is actually a paid vacation.

They point to the farce that is internal affairs.

They point to the farce that is the for profit incarceration system especially the private.

They point to bogus immigration check points.

They point to the rash of cops planting evidence.

They point to qualified immunity for police that allows them to break the law during the performance of their duty. Mostly it protects them from prosecutions and civil actions for excessive use of force and civil rights violations.

They point out the massive abusive and illegal incarcerations caused my prosecutorial immunity. Prosecutor can do all sort of illegal and unethical thing to convict innocent defendants and suffer no consequences criminally or civilly.



Fat Bastardo's Op Ed: At this point it is naive to think that this system can be reformed from within. It is equally naive to assume that shaming these tyrants will make them behave in a legal and ethical manner. There seems to be few legal options left that will stop the corruption and end the police state. Police accountability activist James Freeman has suggested bringing armed militias accompany the independent press when they are cop watching or auditing troublesome and tyrannical cops. NOTE: James Freeman is non violent and does not advocate violence against police. Police accountability  auditors Such as the dean of auditing News Now Houston, the irrepressible Furry Potato, the dogged Bobby Hill clone Patrick Roth, the quick witted Johnny 5-0 the feisty femme fetale Carolina in Fort Worth, tough as nails SGV News and many others have taken a civil rights approach and have taken police beatings, and illegal detainment and unlawful incarceration. Zohie Perez aka Furry Potato a transwoman of color has taken some of the most horrific and abuse which includes being roughed out and injured by cops pepper sprayed, beaten with batons and shot.

IMO, the first amendment auditors, cop watches and police accountability advocates are every bit as needed and courageous and the Freedom Riders who fought the tyranny of segregation and vote suppression in the depraved and racist Bible belt. Like them they have all taken more than one for the team - Team America.

Is there a best approach or strategy that will force reform? Who knows? Something needs to happen soon.

In reality, cops are merely the unwitting droids and foot soldier of the corporate criminal elite and of course they tyrants at the top recruit and train thugs. e.g. the Nazi's Gestapo.

Wars are won by land, sea and air and by guile, intelligence, tactics and strategy. Wars are not won by fighting fair or by one single strategy. We defeated Saddam Hussein by destroying his command and control  within the first minutes of the first war Gulf War.

Starve The Rat Bastards!

One strategy that is being ignored is Jury Nullification ,  When juries refuse to convict defendants for bullshit crimes based on bad laws, the prison profiteers will lose money, prosecutors will be less inclined to file bullshit and judges will toss out all but the cases that are actual proven crimes. Keep in mind, the entire criminal justice system is a for profit system.

The only legislation that I think is imperative is laws that will end qualified immunity for cops and immunity for prosecutors. This could go a long way in fixing the problem. Beyond that there seem to be nothing within the system that can reform it.

Obey The Law And Learn The Law 100%

Don't give them any excuse to hem you up. If no laws are broken or perceived to be broken their will be now grist for the criminal justice money mill.

Record and Document All Encounters

Cops lie, prosecutors lie and judges lie. Record them when ever possible. If you can't, exercise your 5th amendment rights and DON'T TALK TO THE COPS until you have the skills to defeat their verbal judo.
