Friends, in the days since my colleague David announced Daily Kos' latest round of endorsements, Mitch McConnell has laid bare exactly why this campaign is so important: On Friday, Trump and his Senate Republicans walked away from negotiations over the next coronavirus relief package. The coronavirus crisis and the resulting economic calamity lies squarely at the feet of Donald Trump. His administration's carelessness, cruelty and staggering incompetence have allowed the virus to spread out of control and crash the economy. Millions of Americans are set to be evicted. And all through it, Senate Republicans have supported Trump's recklessness, incompetence and temper tantrums. This crisis is as much their crisis as it is Donald Trump's.
