The last generation to witness Republicans who were not total scumbags were the baby boomers and even then, Republicans were scumbags. For every Dwight Eisenhower you had a couple of Richard Nixons or Spiro Agnews, Back then Republicans were at worst thieves and liar but today's Republicans are pedophiles, traitors and insurrectionists. And I'm not only talking about trash like Josh Hawley, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Madison Cawthorn, I'm talking about every scumbag who would vote for a Republican.
The Republican base is most of the reason for why there are so few moral Republican in Washington. Truth is the enemy of the GOP base.
