Carnie Wilson Has Weight Loss Surgery Again: Singer Undergoes Lap Band Surgery

Carnie Wilson weighed more than 300 pounds before undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 1999, and 12 years later she's turned to surgery again in her battle against weight gain.

On January 18, Wilson underwent lap-band surgery -- a procedure in which a silicone band is placed around the stomach, effectively shrinking it to the size of a golf ball, reports People magazine.
"It was the right decision for me and I'm doing really well so far," says Wilson, who has already lost 30 pounds since the surgery. "It's all about taking good care of myself."

It's the same sentiment the singer had after she lost more than 150 pounds through gastric bypass surgery in 2000. "The surgery is a tool to assist in helping you get back your health, but you have to participate in your wellness by really being aware of what you eat," she told USA Today.

Much has changed in the past 12 years for the singer, who is reuniting with Wilson Phillips to promote their new album and reality show "Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On." She's also now the mother of two girls aged 6 and 2, whom she had with husband Rob Bonfiglio. Though she lost nearly half her body weight with the first surgery, pregnancy and motherhood have thrown her off track.

"Having children derailed me a bit," she told People in February 2010 after she failed to lose the 61
pounds she gained while pregnant with her younger daughter, Luciana.

Just weeks before she underwent her second surgery, Wilson told Fox News she had gained weight but was looking forward to getting into an exercise routine agan. "It's like a daily decision. Am I going to eat healthy today or am I going to make some shitty decisions?"

The 43-year-old explained, "I've really struggled since I've become sober. How do I balance that? How can I relax and not overeat? Because I have a lot of pressure in my life. I'm a working mother ... You try to pay the bills, you try to keep your life going and there's pressure."

Paul Campos, a law professor at the University of Colorado, argues elsewhere on this Web site that it isn't a legitimate issue, or, if it is, it isn't clear whether it's a minus or a plus. I take a more scientific approach to this question. Earlier this week I surveyed America's fattest presidents (defined as those with a Body Mass Index of 30 or more) and found, based on Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.'s 1996 "greatness" rankings, that collectively these lipo-Americans fell into the "average" category as presidents, albeit at its higher end. As some readers pointed out, it was a small sample--only five presidents were in the 30-plus range, and one of them was the almost pathologically vigorous Theodore Roosevelt. (Chester Arthur, 28.7, and Bill Clinton, 28.3, were our sixth- and seventh-fattest presidents, but being shy of 30 they did not meet the medical definition of obesity. Bigger and more pear shaped Republican William Howard Taft was hands down our fattest and best president ever. Unlike today's apple shaped Republicans Taft was a compassionate man who did even more trust busting than fellow Bull Moose Party and Republican Party fatling Teddy Roosevelt.

Fat girls just swoon over guys like Obama. The late Tupac Shakurr was right when he said, "skinny Niggaz can really throw the dick" Obama is probably hung like a mule to boot and fat girls like sausage whether it is attached to a handsome man like their dreamy Barack or sitting on a plate at IHOP next to a towering stack of flap jacks. Most fat girls refer to themselves as a hot mamas for Obama. They want a president that reminds them of when some skinny guy got drunk and porked the shit out of them. Christie's belly may be be seen as a gas tank for the love machine by skinny chicks who can get on top are concerned but too many a fat girl recalls being disappointed by a fat boy like Chris Christie who was unable to complete docking maneuvers do to buried penis syndrome and pannicular obstruction. 




Obama is working hard for the fat vote. He is showing that he can chow down when need be. This could backfire among savvy male gluttons who think he may be trying too hard but fat boys unlike fat girls like hanging around skinny handsome men to pick up the rejects.

I am not qualified to comment on this with much authority so I will make some indirect observations.

In the above video SuperPacJack really states the obvious. Never having been picked on because of my race which is White it is clearly obvious even to me -- Trayvon Martin was was killed because he was Black.  Only an asshole could think otherwise.

Some of the sows in the FA movement like to draw parallels between the plight of Blacks and Jews with the "plight" of the fat and gluttonous and frankly the parallels that these people draw is offensive. Being Black is not a choice. Being fat is. If you can't hack being fat then don't be fat! You have a choice. Trayvon had no choice and neither did the Jews who were marched into the ovens.
